Sedation Dentistry

Sedation DentistryDoes visiting the dentist give you anxiety? You’re not alone. Statistics show that about 15 percent of Americans suffer from dental anxiety, and in some cases, dental phobia can cause a paralyzing fear of getting dental treatment. That’s where oral sedation can help.

With oral sedation, we administer a sedative, which helps you relax if you are nervous about a treatments or if you are undergoing a procedure that may cause discomfort or distress. And, oral sedation is very safe when supervised by a specially trained dentist.

Many of our patients prefer oral sedation, and it is generally well tolerated. The sedative will never render you unconscious. You will be awake and any nervousness or anxiety you have about your dental treatment will be greatly decreased. While you will be conscious, you may not fully remember your dental appointment. (Be sure to make arrangements with someone to drive you home after your appointment.)
